I used it with my 35+ pound mt bike and never had issues. It can hold two bikes fine but you have to protect against scratching + bumps between the two with padding and more bungee cords. I mounted it on the ball hitch and then flipped the ball hitch over so it was higher because I was using it on a low sedan it occassionaly would hit the ground on bad curbs but this helped out with that issue. There is a nut a on the bottom that could occasionally need some tightening but it has plastic threading and lock ring to prevent loosening. it also tilts back so you can gain access to the trunk I used mine on a g35 sedan and I could still get in the trunk with 3cms of clearance with no tilting. it's an ok rack with no frills and lots of bungees for the price and space saving ability I don't think it can be beat for under 150 bucks. It is too flimsy for regular sized bikes. Perhaps it would O.K. for ultralight racing bikes, but that's not the kind I ride any longer. Perhaps the manufacturer should note a weight limit. The only issue that I encountered may have been my fault, I was under the impression that the rack bolted on over your hitch, it actually replaces it. The bolt that replaces it seems to be an odd size as well which made attaching it a bit of a pain. That said, someone with more tools may not have that problem, but I have a ton of tools.The main reason I bought it however was the suprisingly low price. HOWEVER, when I went back to look at the ad again after I received it, the price had nearly tripled. Guess I got lucky. |
