A rubber flexible extension like this can take contact with the ground with stride and not cause the fender to bend, break, or become misaligned with the wheel. Installation is simple, requiring a single hole to be drilled after slipping the mudflap onto the trailing end of the fender and a plastic push-rivet is inserted through the hole to secure it. There is a washer for the far side of the rivet and after the push-pin is pressed into the body of the rivet the wings of the plastic rivet expand and grip the washer on the far side. I slipped it on, drilled a hole, put the plastic plug in and snipped off what I assumed was a small piece of plastic that made it easy to grip the plug when installing it. It seems there was a leftover metal washer once I was done, I don't know what that was for, it didn't seem to fit anywhere.Despite all that it went on easily and seems to be doing its job. |
