This is a WET lubricant, similar to Finishline, but I feel it does a better job. All wet lubricants are "oily"... of course! They have to be in order to repel water/muck etc.
They are much harder to clean off, hence why it isn't a dry lubricant like all of the other White Lightning products.
For wet weather mountain biking, this stuff is great! If you've used finishline in the past, give this a try!

Before using this lube, I'd never found anything that could hold up past 20 miles. Every race or long ride, I'd be missing shifts or squeaking by the end. On a recommendation, I gave this a shot and a winter's worth of grit ceased to be a problem. I should have cleaned the chain better before applying it, but it functioned perfectly even with my neglect. Five stars.

This is my second purchase for bike chain lubricants and I have to say this one is the best. As an amateur I used aerosol cans like WD-4D to grease my chain, I have used black machine oil as well. The aerosol cans never quite cut it whether it is an 8$ bottle of FinishLine or some WD-4D (everyone should know WD-4D is not a good idea). Heavy Duty Wet Ride is the best of both worlds for lubricating the bicycle chain. Aerosol Finishline does not get the chain lubricated enough and re-application is necessary far too soon, while the black machine oil is a magnet for dirt and grime. White Lightning is not as sticky as black machine oil and stays intact onto the bike chain much longer than any FinishLine product.
Definitely pick this one up for BICYCLES.
