The Strobe mode gets attention. Dirt Cheap. (You can find this light on eBay for less than $5). Cons: Not bright enough to actually illuminate the road. NOT DURABLE AT ALL. Cheaply made. The handlebar mount broke on the first bump I hit, and I had to glue it back together. The rubber piece covering the on\off switch easily falls off. And finally, the light itself stopped working after 45 minutes (with brand-new batteries). Some of the light shines backwards, which can be very annoying on strobe mode. I suspect it is user error that has caused the breaks in others situations. granted I wouldn't classify this as a "rugged" piece of equipment it has serve me well so far and is worth the price.Like most of these other reviews have stated this is a light to be used to get motorist attention. This light is a very poor light if you intend to use it to see the road. It does do an excellent job of getting you noticed, it is super bright, I'll notice street signs as far away as you can see being lit up by it. As for the ring of light around its neck, while it can be somewhat annoying if you've got oncoming lights the flashing makes it difficult to see.
