These bars are by no means a lightweight bar. They are steel, not aluminum alloy, but that being said, if you're buying North Road bars you're probably not concerned with weight. I put these on my grocery getter bike, and its setting right next to my Raleigh Sports, which of course is an original carrier of north road bars. I compared the two and the pyramid bars are slightly more swept back, making them a tiny bit more narrow, which I love. Even though they are a little more swept back they are still extremely comfortable.

But you will probably have to replace your brake and shifter cables. I put these on a 2001 Specialized Crossroads hybrid, and they look great. The cables I had were way too short, though. I don't think these handlebars will work with grip shifters. They would be fantastic on a cruiser, single-speed or even a kid's bike.

This is a very nicely finished chrome handlebar. I used it to replace a badly rusted bar on a Univega mixte I refurbished for my wife. It is slightly wider than the stock bar, and much more stable and comfortable as a result. I will purchase this same bar when I find a suitable companion bike for myself.
