I put these into an old steel Trek frame after I installed a Sora groupset with brifters and an 8-speed wheelset that I salvaged off another bike I got cheap and stripped all the components. They went right into the downtube cable stop at the top where the cable slid into them.They make it really easy to adjust the fine-tuning of the indexed derailleurs without having to mess around at the derailleur itself. Since the front derailleur has no fine-tuning at all these do the trick quite well. They can be easily adjusted from the saddle on the fly to fine-tune upshifts and downshifts. I also have used the Jagwire version which are pretty much exactly the same. I think they are probably made in the same factory by the same supplier. The price is about the same. The Jagwire name has to mean something. They don't make much stuff that isn't top-notch. These are pretty much identical.
